Into Stillness is a contemplative and ambient flute and harp album, designed for relaxation. The concept for this album developed during Duo Faun's time working together in hospital settings, where their music was used to alleviate stress and provide "sonic care" for all.
Into Stillness is an entirely self-produced album - a small collection of works, improvisations, and original compositions. The tracks consist of the gentle combination of flute and harp accompanied by ambient electronic effects and the distant sounds of nature.
A Beginning (track 4) and A Still Place (track 10) are original compositions by Maddilyn Goodwin. They are ambient flute/alto flute and electronic works, composed with the vision of helping the listener lose themself within the music.
Track 11 (bonus track - only available with full album download) is a breathing meditation that is designed to slow down the breath, to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system and encourage relaxation. To follow, inhale on the high chord, and exhale on the low chord. However, there is no right or wrong way to listen - choose a technique that is comfortable and easy for you.
Duo Faun consists of Bart Seaton-Said (harp) and Maddilyn Goodwin (flute). They are based in Brisbane, Australia, where they provide music in hospitals, aged care, and various events around the area. Their unique combination of harp and amplified/electronic flute and effects offers a luscious and healing ambient sound scape.
More information on our tracks can be found in the bonus download, the album booklet.
